I have a problem... When I'm riding at 25% throttle at 60mph my bike starts to surge then go back down, surge then go back down, etc... Now my battery keeps dying. I'm guessing a bad alternator maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm supposed to be headed up to Deal's Gap and the Dragon's Tail in a week! lol...

could be alternator.....have it checked then.

 

Check that your battery terminals are properly tightened.

 

same happened to me. it was a bad battery.

it wasnt getting full charged. remember that our bikes use an "stator" not an alternator. By this, our bikes wont charge the battery until 5000RPMS +
if you have upgraded your headlights, or drive real slow always under 5000rpms and the battery is going bad, this kind of stuff will happen..

i changed the battery and the problem is fixed. i try to run over 5000rpms steady a couple of times a day, just to make sure its charging.
