Best price I found was $214 for a new part. www.Mrcycles.com
Why do you need a new stator cover ?- what happened ? (We see a lot of this, may not be the stator that's at fault)

Okay unless I'm looking at the parts list incorrectly $214 shadow is for the cap, which going back to our originally conversation is usually all that is needed, but SilverBird if you won't the whole assembly call Steve's salvage in Tifton Georgia. They actually have a shop that rewinds them on a exchange basis. The price is around $170 with a warranty, if memory serves me correctly and the whole unit runs right at $300 and these guys are very knowledgeable and forthcoming with information. Here is a link to their website they claim to be the world's largest salvage yard. With 110,000 ft.² of indoor parts facility, as well as a standard outdoor salvage yard with a million plus parts in inventory

Why do you think you need a new stator cover ? Charging issues ? Bike not starting, or what ? Have you done all the tests to isolate the problem ? Believe me, in this area there's plenty to learn, and as others who use this Forum will tell you, I could write a very painful book on the Hurricane charging system ! 6 reg recs, 2 stator covers, 4 batteries, etc etc.I HOPE I've now solved the problem...
And Hardcorp's right - (Hi Gunny) you won't get a better price than the one he's quoted you, to my knowledge, and with a guarantee, too.

no im very familiar with the charging system, but my cap is cracked for 1, tightened the bolt to much and 1 ear broke exposing the windings. but originally 1 of the leads inside shorted out. i carefully soldered the 3 leads inside. but a week later the solder didnt hold and i couldnt get anything down there to pinch the wire to the leads. soldered again for a month and finally i cracked it.

Look at it this way, when you get the new one in, you can use the old one as a hockey puck and take your frustrations out on it.

I can send you a cover, undamaged outer, but the central field coil is shot. No charge, postage only. If you can transfer your internals, it should work fine, and much cheaper...
I'll send you pics if you like.....

You'll have to PM me your address- I'll strip the internals out of it to save weight, and get a postal cost.
I've checked e-Bay international - no 1000F stators, Malbojah, so I guess he'll have to get a part from "where the globe is upside down" !
Remember Silverbird, what I'll send you will be the aluminium cover, and you'll have to transfer the wiring into it- will that do the job ?
