I just finished rebuilding my F4i and replaced the speedometer. The fuel gauge does not even show up on the cluster. Sometimes it will pop up and show all bars up to full. Most of the times the fuel gauge is not present. Anyone know why? I had to fix the gas tank so i removed the pump and reinstalled.
Also, how many miles can i expect to get on a full tank of gas before refueling? (leaving at least 20 miles to spare)

F4i does not have a fuel gauge... it has a reserve gauge which comes on when you have 0.9 gal remaining. At first all 4 bars will be solid, then they will start blinking one by one until all 4 are flashing, which means you need to fill up soon. All the rest of the time, it will show no gauge

As an FYI, I usually get to about 150 miles before the reserve gauge comes on, and then add another ~30 miles before all the last bar is flashing.

 

Yea they are fuel injected so the fuel gauge comes on when you get down to .9 gallons or the reserve tank. Pending on how you drive 120-140 miles on a full tank before you need to get more
