Post Headlight problems.

Intro Thread/ Looking for some help.

I have been lurking here for over a year, recently registered when i picked up my bike a few weeks ago. The PO did a hack job on the headlight wiring harness so i bought a new one and installed it. Everything works now except my headlights. The highbeam indicator light on the dash doesn't come on, but they are getting power. I replaced the headlights so they aren't burnt out. Anyone have any ideas? Do you think its the Starterswitch? Doing a search brought up a few threads, one of them helped a little but i can't find it again.

Are you sure there is power coming directly to the headlight bulbs? If there was and you have new bulbs installed, then they'd be lighting up.

The high beam switch will provide power to both the LED in the gauge and the bulb itself. Power to the low beam comes from the switch inside the ignition (key), and is temporarily broken by the starter button when starting the bike.

First place I'd start is check the headlight fuse. If issues persist, then grab a multimeter and wiring diagram and start checking different places to see where power is being stopped.
