Default headlight condensation

Anyone know of the best way to remove headlight condensation without breaking the seal on the housing. I heard a hairdryer would work, or i was thinking of just taking my highbeam light out and tieing a cloth to the end of a closehanger or something and trying to wipe it out. The highbeam side of the headlight housing fogs up reaaal bad when its humid out and looks like ****.

If you get it once that means there is probably already a compromise in the seal. If you get it to go away, chances are it will come right back.

The problem might be recurrent. i have a similar issue, but its not too bad. Just turn the high beam on for a while (or all the time for visibility!). that heats up the insides and clears up the fog within minutes.

Turn on the high beam to try and evaporate it. If that doesn't work, find the smallest, tiniest drill bit that you have a punch a hole in one corner of the headlight. Works every time.

hey, not to hijack or anything but...

during the day do you all ride around w/ ur highbeams on? it seems to me that it would make me more visible and it doesnt seems to be blinding. my only concern was if it will burn out the bulb really fast, or get to hot for the headlight housing... it shouldnt, but i figured its better to ask then learn the hard way

+2 on what Scatman said, drilling the headlight works like a charm, it allows air to enter the headlight and dry up the condensation.

Yeah, I usually ride with the hi-beam on during the day. I figured the same as you- easier for people to see me. But to be honest, I never gave the housing gettin' hot a thought. Anyone else?
