Around here it's illegal to signal other drivers by flashing your lights, at least in a car.

It is in Illinois too. That's why motorcyclists have the advantage. We can use our hands. Plus, if I was driving, especially at night, and a random car just flashes his lights, I'd have NO idea what he was trying to convey

I'm not to sure if it is illegal in Oklahoma to signal with head lights, but I do it anyways. I have a radar detector so I like to help those who dont have them. Plus the small towns here in OK like to just set up speed traps. It's how they get probably 90% of their funds. Alot like to sit in ditches where all you can see is the tops of their cars. Most don't have lights on top anymore.

I passed a cop a few days ago in my car and decided to signal the oncoming traffic that there was a cop by flashing my headlights a few times just to find out it was another cop. Not sure if its legal to do or not but I didnt get pulled over so....

Taping on helmet is recognized popo ident around my area.

To signal others to slow down, I use an extended arm w/ an up & down motion, like a little kid that is pretending he's flying.

If you see someone coming at you at night and rapidly alternating his car headlights between the park lights and the low beams you'd better watch your speed because it could be me warning you of a cop sitting just down the road. That's how I do it.

I've found that flashing the high/low beams at night confuses drivers into thinking I'm trying to get them to dim their high beams so I came up with the above alternate method after dark.

DUDE, that's an AWESOME idea. Never thought of that. I'll do that when I have a car thats lights aren't stuck on high
