Default Turn Signal

I got a 1993 CBR 1000F, yeah it's fast, but my turn signals don't work. I replaced the headlights with H4's and got those working, but my turn signals aren't.

The thing is when I turn my bike on, the two lights under the headlights (the turn signals?) are steady on. I can move the switch to the left or right and a light will go on or off but it doesn't blink, and the rears dont do anything. Also if I press the signal button, that slides left+right, straight down both lights will come on.

I heard it may be a dual filament bulb so just becuase my running lights are working it doesn't mean my turn signals aren't burn out, is that true?

Do you guys have any advice for me? I'm a newbie, it's my first bike and I haven't ridden 100miles yet

I used to have a "Toyota Camry " and the signals did the same thing. It turned out to be the RELAY switch, the relay allows the light to actually blink. I'm not sure if it is located in the signal switch itself, or elsewhere on the bike but I think that may be your issue.
I'm sure that Shadow knows, he also posted a link for amanual you can download on this site that may explain the location of the relay. Good luck and welcome!!!

It's your turn signal flasher unit, which is located in the front fairing on my bike, but here's the manual. Replace it (the flasher unit) and your problem should be solved. The dual filament bulbs are the bright and dip in your headlights, and your tail/brakelight bulbs. Flashers (turn indicators)are single filament.

You may be able to use any car flasher unit, but I'm not sure. Check with your local Honda dealership, or look for No16 in this.......Part costs $37 from www.Mrcycles.com

I found the flasher unit on my bike - it's on the left side, rear, under the tail piece, behind the regulator/rectifier, about 6" from the tail light, so you'll have to remove the tailpiece to get to it. The drawing is correct - sorry the flasher that's in front is on my GPZ900. It looks like a relay from a car, and has a separate loom going to it. Hope this helps.

Ugh it's so frustrating waiting for my turn signals from www.mrcycles.com. I placed my order for my relay on the 10th. On the 17th I got an email confirming the package was to be sent fedex and the delivery date was the 24th. Well the 24th was yesterday and still no package. Checked online with the tracking number and it says status, "Delivered." Was left at door with no signature request needed. The thing is I was here and I didnt see/hear fedex.

So now it's been 2 weeks and I still don't have anything

Sounds like they didn't even bother to knock - that sucks, especially when you really need it......
