hard ride
hey guys the is my problem. wedesday a group of us went on a pretty good long hard ride. have way through it my bike turned off. the temp guage went up to 230 and the fan didn't comeing on. so we pulled over and sat for about 20 min and i cranked it back up it spit oil stright out the pipe looked in the peep hole and no oil was in it so i put 2 qt. in it was rideing good after that then i got on it a lil hard again and it lost all power started putting around and acting likeit was watered down gas in it or something. so i got off it just cruseing and came up to a hill wouldn't even go over 8 miles a hour jerking around and stuff so i parked it and cranked it yesterday it fired up and notting seemed to be wrong the oil looked watery tho any clues out there about wat could be wrong?
Check your coolant. if you are getting watery oil that could be because the coolant is mixing with the oil (and vice versa).... blown head gasket (i think) or maybe water pump seal?
I would do something about it though (at least an oil change) don't assume it will be ok... losing power during hard riding can be very dangerous.

Unscrew the oil drain plug slightly and if there's water in the oil, it'll be the first to drip out, (because water is heavier than oil).
Check the fan as well (wireing, fuses, etc). There's no reason it shouldn't be on above 230 degrees.

if your oil level was correct before and you had to add 2qts... something is very wrong. i think oil in the exhaust is bad piston rings or cylinder walls (little help here). i wouldn't ride until you figure it out.
ya a few guys have told me that it could be bad seals or a cylinder stuck open or closed could that have anything to do with it i changed the oil yesterday but it still has a wiered sound not a knocking sound tho like a blown motor or anything but it just don't sound right
was it on its sidestand when you looked at it through the peep hole? If so then you over filled it and it will run like a dog then. As for the fan not coming on, the fans and sensors go out on these all the time. Check your Fan fuse and make sure its not blown. The bike i have now belonged to my brother and we used to ride together alot. There was about a month where the bike was blowing fuses left and right and overheating and wouldnt start. Turned out the fan went to hell and was drawing a buttload of amperage against the system blowing fuses. Anyways, if the bike is overheating the pcm is going to shut it down to prevent damage.
