it's a PITA. I had to cut my grip, and there's a small hole in the bar there through which I had to poke a screwdriver and pry out the weight.

So going from inside out, there's first
1> the bar weight
2> two rubber washers/grommets slid onto grooves on the weight that hold it against the bar
3> the hollow bar with the small hole
4> grip.

2> is what causes the problem getting it out! The first washer is just inside the hole under the grip. If you can get to it without cutting the grip, more power to you, but I couldn't. So I put in the tiny screw driver in through the hole under the grip and and wedged it between the washer and the handlebar, and pried the weight out while simultaneously pulling on the broken part with pliers. ( The broken part will have part of the hole for where the bar end screw fits in. Use this for the pliers!

Use the bolt that holds the bar end on, screw it in and bit and use the bolt to pull the weight out. My spray some wd40 in there or just some water or something to help it slide out, theres 2 rubber grommets that keep the weight in place

I just put on heli bars and let me tell the handle bar weigt removal was the worst part! since i was putting on totally new bars i ended up cutting the old bars in half. and the clips arent really reusable either.

A slide hammer with a 6 or 8 mm ( cant remember which) screw works great. I put on a set of manic salamander bar ends with cruise controll in under an hour.
