Default grounded out main relay?

So, I'm new to bikes and I decided to go ahead and attempt to swap to a manual cam chain tensioner. As I was adjusting the tension and I had shut the bike off, but let the key on the on position proceeded to move my gastank and I THINK I bumped my relay into my subframe. Ordered another relay and I still get the same rapid clicking when I try to fire it up. The clock also resets. I'm charging the battery as we speak to eliminate that from the equation. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

To clarify I put it on the trickle charger. The battery wasn't dead. Bike was cranking until I possibly grounded out my relay. When I hook up the relay all lights and gauges work. Turn key to "on", flip engine cut-off switch, hit the engine start switch and then bike clicks at main relay and resets simultaneously.
