How did you burn up the pump?

Servicehonda.com is going to be your cheapest OEM source.

Hmm, that's wierd that it just happened to stop working when he took it off, especially if it was running fine before you took it to him to get painted. I think I'd be a little more upset at the fact that I had to buy a new fuel pump after someone else took it off of the bike, even if it was to repaint it. If it were me, I'd take the fuel pump out of the tank, if it isn't out already, and check to make sure all of the wires are correctly connected to the pump assembly itself...one might have got bumped out of place when it was being taken out of the tank. In any case, make sure you get a new gasket for the fuel pump because the old one you have is no good. I removed my fuel pump to inspect the filter on it and had to buy a new gasket because the old one leaked when I reinstalled the pump in the tank. The gaskets are impregnated with some type of sealant and are only good for one use.

I would definitly check the connections on the pump itself (not the module) and DEFINTILY replace the gasket with a new one.

No special tools. Just a socket. Take loose the bolts. I am **** so I still do it in a criss-cross pattern. When you reinstall make sure you do it per spec.

I havent pulled the pump out of the module, so I am not sure if that requires any special tools. I can't remember where the actual pump electrical connectors are located at, but I am sure they will be easy to find once you pull the module out of the tank.

Depending on your mileage, you may want to go ahead and replace the filter while you are in there.

I can't remember what the service interval is for the filter.

You can test it by hooking the pump module back up to the harness and turning the key on. You don't even have to have it in the tank. Just make sure the kill switch is set to run.
