Default Fuel mileage in cold weather ??

I was wondering if anyone else's mileage changes when it gets cold out ?
Back in the summer when I first got my 02 F4I it was getting 38-40 mpg.
The past few fillups its only getting 34-36 mpg (morning ride to work its in the upper 30s, going home in the afternoon its been in the mid 50s).
Just filled up yesterday & that tankfull worked out to only 29 mpg [:@] (morning temps in the mid 20s - mid 30s).
Is it normal for mpg to drop off that much in the cold on the these bikes ??
Or could something be going wrong ?
But the bike runs fine, just wondering if its something I need to worry about.
