recently picked up an 01 F4I (wrecked) got it back together except that the digital fuel gauge is not lighting up. I've checked my clymer manual but no luck anyone run into this problem ...remedies

No indication on the fuel gauge until you are in reserve.

It's really not a fuel gauge, it's a reserve gauge.

when i fist turn the key and the gauges come on the little fuel pump logo and the for bars just above it and the RES all light up but then go out

I can't remember what my 02 R1 used to do but if I just have to wait for my RES light to come on so be it
