friendly advice needed
This is a frequently asked question but my search function is disabled for some reason, stupid work computers!
Any way i was wondering what the advantages of a power commander are i.e. what results can i expect from installing one. And how does the whole mapping and what not work?
And the infamous CCT on my brotercycle has taken a crap on me as it has for many on the forum, APE or OEM?
Thanks everyone!

APE! Better fuel delivery, smoother throttle, you can choose to run your fuel richer or leaner. For the mapping you can either download a pre-made map from the power commander website (ie. CBR F4i w/ Akra exhaust) or you can get it dynoed and custom mapped ($$$)

hmmm... the whole "search button won't work... damn work computers" excuse is pretty good. pretty believable. at least most ppl will believe it and not flame out on you.
but yea, smoother throttle response, better mileage (if you get the right map), etc etc. basically, a PC configures how your bike runs. It can make it run faster or slower.

RE: friendly advice needed
Speaking of CCT's: I was at the dealer last weekend and the mechanic was reading me the riot act on not replacing my CCT. Telling me that I better do it before it jacks my engine up. This was after he told me that ALL CBR's have the problem. My response was, if ALL CBR's do this and it was a safety problem then there would be a recall to replace it. I asked the mechanic standing next to him if a replacement OEM CCT would have the same problem down the road and he said yes. So basically, they are trying to make replacement of the CCT a regularly scheduled maintenance item.

tell him to call honda's regional manager. mine was replaced after warranty expired for free.
search around...you won't find a single F4i that had timing jump, etc. due to a failed CCTL. since the cctl is made up of so many parts, it wears and tears so the tolerance for some of the parts, such as the shaft and the cctl head, are greater and thus making the noise. people claim that the noise is the cam chain slapping around...i have found otherwise.
