Default Fork Oil Replacement

Yo.
I have a 2001 F4i and have never replaced the fork oil. I have around 15K miles on the bike. How often does this need to be replaced? What about the rear shock?

I have a service manual. How hard is this to do myself? Is it worth taking in the forks to a shop? How long does it actually take?

Thanks,
Zac

There's a tutorial on BARF for changing fork valves. If you're just doing the front oil, you wouldn't need the whole tutorial. Sorry I don't have the link on my work PC.

As far as rear shock, I don't think they are serviceable but someone can correct me.

Fork oil should be replaced annually or every 2 years for street riders.

rear shock is serviceable...removing it is a pita.

shop will charge you dearly for replacing the front fork fluid.
