954 Oil Seal in fork replacement
Can anyone please help me out. I need to replace an oil seal in one of my forks and im a little scared of doing it, but i dont want to get ripped off with some mechanic charging some ridiculus amount in labor charges. Ive got the shop manual. Please help!!

Unless it has cartridge forks it's a pain ... but doable. In the shop manual it will show you all the 'special tools' that you need to do the job. I suggest you get everything it recommends. It is possible to rebuild the forks without some of them but they will make your life sooooo much easier. Think I paid about $200 for all the tools to do my 1kRR forks ... more than pays for themselves 1st time you use them.
And one tip, but it's a biggy. Neatness counts when you're doing forks. Make yourself at least a 4x4 foot area that is clean and coverable to lay all the pieces. And while you have 'em apart, might as well change all the seals ... difference in handling afterwards is saaaweeet.
