Flush mounts on the rear

Sick97ss: thats sweet! Do you have a write up? also I started cutting off the mudflap/plate mount. but I had to stop at the key-hole for the trunk. How did you go about this? and what is holding up your tailight? it doesnt look like there is any of the plastic underneath holding it up? Sorry lots of questions, but I would love to be able to do something like this.
writeup's in my sig below. or here
I routed my trunk cable in a "hidden location". no key required

Thanks everyone! Its nice being able to get on here and figure stuff out and gives me a little more confidence to work on my bike! Maybe ill get some time this week to fiddle a little more and make the "hidden cable" to open my trunk and cut the fairing more. Ill put up a pic soon as I get this done.

Back b/f I did the split-seat conversion, I eliminated my key lock & only had the cable end of the lock mechanism extending thru a cut slot on the L side of my homemade aluminum FE. It was just a metal nub that I pulled on to unlock my seat.
When I wanted to remove the seat, I simply pulled that nub. It would actuate the seat lock just like the key. It worked great. Nobody knew what it was but me. Since pics tell the story...

The nub on the end of the cable is what actually connects to your keylock. Its simply removes from the mechanism.
Yep, easy to revert back to orig. I have the same cable connected back to the key lock on my split-seat conversion. ;-)
