Sand it down and repaint it. IMO flat black looks cheap. If you do flat black. I would have a paint shop do it for you so it doesnt look blotchy.

Here's mine. Just finished it yesterday, I wish the sun was out today so the pearls would show up. In low light it looks pretty flat, but we added a ton of copper and gold pearl so in bright light it's a pretty cool effect. We painted this with just a base coat and no clear at all. We did a couple of test cards with flattened clear, but it just wasn't flat enough for me so we just went with no clear at all. I wanted some clear for the protection, but I couldn't get the color I wanted so just a base coat it is.

Just base coat? Isn't that going to scratch hella easy? Unless is single stage paint basecoat offers no protection against scratches or UV

My buddy (the body guy) and I discussed it at length and decided it would be alright. It won't have protection against UV is true, however it's covered a lot of the time so that didn't worry me. It will scratch easier than it would have with clear coat, but base coat is also very flexible and fairly durable on it's own. We didn't scratch it at all putting it back together, and we were definately rubbing some parts together and such. I guess I'll find out for sure this riding season how well it's going to hold up.
