well i got talked into keeping my bike after i was gona sell it. i was on my way to my friends house last night at about 11pm on a road that i know well but haven’t been on in a while. well about less then a mile before his house i went around a turn at about 30-35 mph as im going around the turn i see this huge whole in the road it takes up the whole lane there really was no place for me to go but try to stop the bike. so i up righted the bike and tried to stop but then i was off the road where i had to let off the brakes or risk skidding in the soft sand as i got on the side of a grass embankment i tried to break again and got the bike to about 3-5 miles hour as i thought i had it the bike slid out from under me down the little hill and i fell over in the grass. the bike only has slight scratches on the side of it no broken fairings my turn signal popped of its bracket but screwed right back in and my jacket is cover in grass and dirt from me falling on to the lawn and sliding down the hill. my first reaction is like wtf this isnt my fault but then after i calmed down i realized it was my fault i was out riding my lights in the turn.



i set the bike ip on the kick stand and when back to check out this abomination in the road apparently they were working on the road there were 4 of these in a row. and when they got done working on the road they just threw pavement in the whole and never packed it down they let the cars do it. well the cars only pushed the pavement back out the hole causing a huge speed bump type hump when coming out the hole this was across the entire lane of the road. my fear was if i hit this about ½ foot in depth i would have lost enough traction to cause the bike to slide out from under me which is why i did what i did. im really pissed because if they had properly paved the road when they were done this would have never happened [:@]

If the road was improperly repaired you can go after the Department responsible to get them to pay for damages to your bike and gear.

They are responsible for maintaining road safety for all vehicles.

 

in ny you cant get a repair for a pothole but im wondering since this is a repair to the road that was how should i put it half A** then shouldnt they be liable for that

if it is bad take it up to the department and ask for money
