Default Bike fell over during the night

Decided to leave my bike covered outside last night as i ran out of time to make room in my garage for it. Unfortunately i didnt park it next to a wall or anything so a gust of wind blew it over onto its right hand side on chuckie stones. Visible damage is minimal with only a few scratches that will polish out. The bike could have been lying there for between 1-9 hours!

Got her back up when i seen it in the morning, left her for an hour, then tried to start her up. Started up first time no bother with no choke, but she was struggling to keep a steady idle so i reved up to 4k a few times and this brought idle to a steady 1kish. Tried to ride off normally but revs dropped quickly and stalled. Ever since i havent been able to get her going.

Electrics are working fine, make ignition noise when trying to start. Just dont want to drain the battery by trying too much. Also there isnt any fluids leaking at all.

Initial guess is that it is a fueling problem.

Not what I wanted to happen on my first night of owning a big bike! Lesson learnt!

Cheers

update:
turns out the relay was fine it was just the fuel pump contacts on there way out and acting a bit intermittent.
anyway i removed the pump until i repair it and made a wee make shift grav feed. she starts first time now but cant hold idle. she doesnt sound healthy either when i give her a wee rev. was gently revving her to keep her going but began to smell the typical overheating smell so shut her off. i could feel alot of heat coming up from the engine.

any ideas what could be causing this?

Bypassing the fuel pump shouldn't have an effect on the ability of your bike to idle and or rev. Providing of course that you have a few gallons of gas in her. As for the overheating, make sure that when the bike fell over, coolant didn't leak out of it. Check the coolant level and make sure that it's flowing through the engine. If you take the radiator cap off while it's cool, then watch the flow while she's warming up. You should see the coolant start to flow after a bit.

Lean engines tend to run hotter, my .02. I agree with my idodirt check ur coolant levels and is ur fan kicking on?

Aye dirt, i think this is a different problem from the fuel pump. Coolant level is fine and flowing. Radiator is cool compared to the manifold which is searing after a wee rev. As for the smell I think it was some mud on the manifold. But there is still alot of heat coming up. She backfires when reved aswell. Think this could be a misfire? Would a misfire make the engine run hotter?
cheers

might consider an oil change. if gas potentially got past the float valve and down the cylinder, then finding its way into the crankcase oil...diluted oil possibly - not good for motor. just a thought
