Fast Idle
I have a 2001 CBR F4I and just reciently I changed my rims, pulled off the side fairings and took my exahust off. All I was doing was cosmetic changes on my bike. I put it all back togather after having it apart for the winter after changing the oil and spark plugs and cleaning the air filter. When it starts now it idles up to about 4 thousand RPMs and when the thermastat kicks in the idle slowly starts to fall. After about 4 to 5 minutes it goes to regular idle speed. I cant go out and ride it just yet cause my pegs are out getting coated so im not sure how it is after i ride. Nothing i did should have changed anything but was wondering if i could get some advice to fixing that problem.
Its normal, everyone elses F4i does the same thing. They are set up with a type of auto choke that causes the RPM's to raise while the bike is warming up if its under 100 degrees in temperature.
Dont worry about it man, just wait for it to warm up before you go riding, i always go start the bike and sit down for a couple minutes while it warms up.
