My 2 cents....I have an 03 954 and an 01 F4i (well that ones heres)...Anyways, the F4i lacks the power and top end (obviously). But turn for turn i can ride the F4i better than most people can ride their 1K's.......Given a good twisty road that lacks alot of str8 aways, yeah with the right rider the F4i can spank the hell out of a 1K....Now if theres plenty of straight aways, then the 1K is gonna walk off and leave and be halfway through the turn before the F4i even starts.......Fun factor, the F4i is 500X's more fun....Honestly, after she learns on the F4i. Imma give her the 954 and imma tke the F4i. Only because i know i can out ride most of the squids who think they have fast 1K's, LoL...=-)

had 2 f3's then got my 900, then got a 929rr, then got a f4i now back on a 929rr . all within 2 years. the 929 is by far the best bike i have ever owned. has the power, torque comfort everything i could want.i get power in the corners and on the straights. i can lean on it better then i could my f4i but im also a bigger dude (6"1 240 lbs. )so the 929 is way more comfy then the f4i

it all depends on you and your comfort level.

aint that different, just be smart
Totally agree... 600 or 1000 is a preference, not a downgrade/upgrade... it all depends on how you like to ride. If you like torque, get a 1000, if you like the 1000rr look, get a 1000rr, if youlike an aggressive, rpm-hungry bike, get the 600...

I do know that my new 1000RR is lighter then my 05 F4i and even just looking at them side by side the 1000RR is a much smaller bike and handels better... somehow? But I still love my F4i and plan on taking the 1k to the track
