Default New member and new to liter bikes...

Hello CBR world :-)

I've been riding for a few years now -- all 600's. I have a Zuk and a Ninja but had been looking at the Repsol for a couple of years. I finally picked up a used one this weekend.

Even though I've been on 600s for a few years, I would not venture to say that I am very experienced rider. After moving up to the 1000cc range, is there any advice that you can give me on what to expect in the differences? straights? low gears? cornering?

Thanks to all!

about 40 more hp, in the twisties be gentle on the throttle, dont try to do WOT out of the turns like ya did on a 600 or you will learn how to drift, and most likely right into a ditch. More prone to lift the front wheel, wont go all that much faster than a 600, but will get there a bit faster.

Wont have to change gears as much cuz of the added torque, and wont had to rev the **** out of it as some claim they have to do with their 600's, but I dont have that problem with mine lol.

Thanks for your reply.

The guy I bought the bike from told me that CBR1000s arent as prone as some of the others for the front to come up. Just from about 20 mins of riding, I can def tell the difference of the added torque in the lower gears.

Thanks Juliet and HondaJunkie... glad to be on the board and pick up some knowledge from fellow riders.

The guy that I got the bike from kept it in immaculate condition. I had been looking at the 05 Repsols for quite a while. I only had to drive to the next state over to get it so that wasnt too bad I guess.

Repsols are so sweet....
Nice bike, man. Real nice. You're right, it looks like it's been well taken care of. Very clean. You picked a good one..

So welcome to the CBRF! Plenty of cool RR riders here to swap advice with or just hang out.
Enjoy the forum, and ride safe.

BTW, I'm not jealous. Just so you know... LOL..
