Are there any size differences between 06 F4i and 01-05 F4i mufflers? I know 06 has a bung for the o2 sensor in the midpipe but is that the only difference? If I buy 06 muffler will it fit my 01 if I plug the hole with some 'adapter'? Anyone know if such adapter exists (I know I can make one but I'd like it to look nice)? This is the only diagram I could find and it seems like bottom is 01-05 while top-left is 06. It also looks like 06 may have a slightly longer midpipe... Am I wrong? TIA

from my knowledge i'm not sure if the 01-06's all use the pipes with size and measurement the same. but what i know is that there are 2 different models of f4i's: the 01-03 models, and the 04-06 models. the pipe mite be sized up differently due to how the tails sections on the 2 models are different. if the o2 sensor is gonna be problem for you, you can get an o2 eliminator for pretty cheap. but then again, that's just my 2 cents... but you can always check again with others

*cough cough* this is where the experienced riders come in...

also one thing you could do is check out www.bikebandit.com and compare the parts for different years of the f4i to see if they use the same parts.

i have a stocker pipe for 06 if you're still interested....

 

different cause the mounts. maybe if you cut the mounting point and reweld it...
