Exhaust and tire size 06 cbr 1000
Hi --I am brand new to this site, was hoping to get some feedback on 1. Hot bodies exhaust -love the look ,cleans up back end but is it loud enough to be the tough bike I'm going for ? 2 . Has anyone changed tire/wheel size to go up to a 200?-any problems?

ah ****, more squids in the making. both of you guys (randeye and silver wing).
1st of all, get the hot bodies kit outa your head. its utter ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely NO performance and is even more obnoxiuos sounding than a D&D exhaust. get an arata, arrow, akra, or sato. your bike will love you for it.
2nd-- by putting on a 200 or even a 180 WILL drastically reduce handling and performance of your bike. leave the 200 tires to the harleys/show bikesand the 180 tires to the 600's. if anything, step up to a 190/55 rear tire and come talk to me after you put your 1st 100 miles on it. you will bow down at the better feel of the 55 rear tire. and why burn off a perfectly good tire. ****, ill send you an old take off to burn up. burn it off in the twisties or the track.

squid thats funny. i did not mean do a burn out to get the tire off. i mean when it wears out on it's own. and i plan on doing either a arata pipe or maybe a akropovic(as i stated). i have never run the 190/55 is it better then running a 180 tire? i like the 180 on my triple(which has a 190stock) much better turn in. sorry for my ignorence on the tire thing this is my first full sport bike in about 10 years been riding sport standards for the last 70,000 miles or so. had a 96 gsxr 750 for a few years, then went to a bandit 1200 in 2000. wanted something that handled better and was still naked so i went to a speed triple, after way to many mods i figured i wanted handling not comfort. so that brings me to my cbr1000. and if ya have any side wall left on those tires i'll take em off your hand. otherwise i dont need them.

there is a very large thread on 1000rr.net about why the 180 sucks so bad.
here is just one thread on the 190/55
http://www.1000rr.net/vb/showthread....light=180%2F55
and one for the 180
to fit it on your rim the tire has to flatten out a and ruin the profile anyway.
the 180 has a steeper profile but less contact patch on the side so you have less tire holding the bike up in corners
