87 cbr 1000 hurricane gas size ????
hey guys , im new to the forum and to the bike world and got my first bike 87 hurricane w/ 88000 miles for $1000. so far ive replaced the back tail and the petcock and looking to get new gas lines as the old gas line is stick onto the old petcock ... everyone tells me to just take it off and match the size BUT i dont own a garage and the bike is outside (dont wanna have any debre get into anything) so i bin doin tons of research
and for some reason i cant find the actual diameter of the gas line and ive called a few places and the cant tell me anything cuz on there computers it wont say .. i bought a 5/16 thinking i would have no problems fitting it but boy am i having a very hard time getting it on 
... pls some one .. HELP ME !!!!!!!! as soon as i fix this problem ill post the pics up of the bike so everyone knows what MINE looks like

My recollection of this (CBR currently residing about 300 km from home) is that the petcock outlet is 12 mm but the hose reduces to 10 mm for the filter and pump and on to the carbs . The tricky B's at Honda do that type of thing so you will need to make up some kind of adaptor to get from one size to the other not a major problem as there is quite a bit of space available to play around with.

yes this was very helpful thanks now got a new problem ,the speedometer doesnt read the speed im going.could it be i need a cluster ? . and mite need a new battery or altinator as the bike doesnt keep its charge. turn the bike on and take the negative off and if it turns off its the altinator right? also when the bike is on the kick stand it seems to read the fuel better than when its up right .. any advice would be helpful
btw i bought a 3/8 line that fit snug on the nipple of the petcock and had no problems replacing them also i have it as a gravity feed and sliped on the fuel filter with no problem then took her for a run then noticed all the othere stuff goin on
my first run as a new biker and loved it with a lil surprize shes light on the left heavy on the right
