Red face Exhaust Clamp Question

I am installing a new two brothers exhaust black series on an 05 F4i however I have done the split seat conversion and have the 03 rear foot pegs and exhaust hander. I noticed when I put the canister clamp around the canister and ran the bolt through the rear foot exhaust hole the clamp seems really tight. I know the rubber and clamp are new however I have about 3/8-1/2 gap at the top of the bracket still were the bolt goes though the rear peg. What I am wondering and this maybe a little silly but does anyone know if the canister clamps are the same length for an 03 and 05? I do not want to tighter that clamp any more until I know for sure. I do not want to dent my new can!! Thanks as always for any replys.

Can't say for sure if there's a difference in the two's spacing. If it just naturally wants
to hang that extra bit out and the entire system is in a straight line, I would opt for
adding a new spacer. You should be able to find a one at the auto store.

I wouldn't add an additional spacer (if you already have one), I would replace with a
single one that makes up the difference.

Hope that helps, Ern

My guess would be it's just not lined up perfectly and that is the reason it won't clamp down all the way. Keep fudging with it and it should fit.

Thanks Guys. I just went out to the garage and found the problem. The rubber was not seated properly around the clamp at all. I re-installed the rubber and presto it fit perfect. I cant wait to fire this thing up later! Thanks again.
