Default Engine temp too high on 02 F4i?

Sup dudes,

I've looked around at other threads and the consensus seems to be that 230 fahrenheit is too high for sitting in traffic. Today when I pulled into my driveway I noticed I was up to 229...first time I seen it this high. I was sitting in a good bit of traffic and it is about 91 degrees outside. Is 229 something to worry about? I guess it is time that I flush the radiator/coolant...I recently got the bike and haven't done so yet.

I had mine get up to about 229F at one point. Normally it never gets about 225F at the most. I flushed coolant and replaced it with Engine Ice since I track all the time but my temp stays down for the most part. Very rarely does it get to the point that the fan comes on. I wouldn't say it's really anything to worry about. When was the last time the coolant was changed?? If you don't know then definitely flush it out and replace it. Hope this helps you out somewhat.

i have engine ice in mine after a coolant flush, and idling for 15 minutes (motul oil cleaner) my temp got to 230 when the fan kicked on.
it took that whole 15 minutes to get that hot though from a cold bike.
the road is probably hotter than 91 degrees though if that makes a difference.

You not overheating until you hit 250.
