Default High Operating Temp? 02 CBR F4i

hey guys,

Maybe a little over a year ago I changed out my 02 f4i's coolant for some 50/50 prestone coolant (car). However after borrowing my friend's f4i I noticed his bike ran at cooler temps than mine (his at around 165ish) and mine runs at 170 on a cool day and up too 220s on an 80degree day.

So Im thinking my bikes running a bit hot...and his bike is running oem coolant still.

is the car coolant no go? do I have air in the system? whats wrong? I remember my bike running a bit cooler when I had the OEM stuff in there (but it hadnt been changed for 3+ years at the time.)

thanks

251 is overheat on the bike
220-225ish is when the fan should kick in

If you hit 251 or the fan isn't kicking in when it should, you have a problem. Otherwise, enjoy the ride

okay good to know nothings up. and yeah the fan kicks in at 223.

just thought it was weird how my friends f4i runs cooler than mine. (as well as this prestone coolant running hotter than oem)

Could be anything. Who weighs more? Who washes their bike more? Do you both use the same oil? Who's bike has more miles? Who's bike is newer? Do you both use the same air filters?

Could be 100 things that cause the temp difference and none of them mean anything so long as everything is normal
