Based on other's experience, I'd say it's worth trying. I've been a fan of Rotella for many years and gave it a try in the bike after using Honda specific oil for my first few changes. I decided that I do not care for it as it occasionally causes some wonky shifting behavior, almost like it's too slippery. Not really sure how to describe it other than that, but the Honda oil seems to give better shifting feedback, so I'll be using that from now on.

Strange that your experience with it was the opposite of what most others have had.

Indeed. The first couple of times it happened, I thought maybe I'd just not shifted correctly. After the 4th or 5th time, I knew it wasn't me... of course, I suppose it could be my shifting style but I did not have any of those issues with the Honda oil.

Immediately after purchasing my F4i, I changed the oil with Shell Rotella T6 based on a lot of recommendations and convenience as its available everywhere. Its only been a short few trips but I don't notice any performance issues.
