that's bull****. from what i see, it is an adjustable resistor and nothing else. and all those 16 maps are the 4 switched resistors combined with each other. and no, unfortunately you can't safely make an expensive sportbike more powerful with 5cent resistor, sorry.

okay so not to **** anyone off... but just because its a cheaper product doesnt mean it doesnt work.... power commander rapes you for a little adjustable box.... i can garentee their profits are out the roof with those things.... perhaps this item is somewhat similar but the producers dont wanna rape their customers in the @$$

Why not??? I would say it is just changing the value on the a/f ratio(injector stays open a little longer). More fuel....more power(to a certain extent). Fuel efficiency would take a hit and that would be determined by the seetings you chose. I don't count anything out until I try it myself.

Default scream all you want. It works

All it does is increase the amount of fuel needed. The computer adjusts a little when you mod the bike [exhaust filer etc] but not enough. Its no different than jetting a carburetor, while it may not be as good as the real thing, it is a power increase and a noticeable one.

+1 all it does is trick the ECU into making the bike run consistently rich. This gives you more power if you have increased your overall airflow (air filter, exhaust, modded airbox), SO, it works.

The benefit to a PROPERLY MAPPED power commander, is the PC has an intricate A/F mixture it creates on the fly based on RPM, tuned specifically to what your bike does / needs at those points.

Making your bike run rich at, say, 3k is actually going to reduce its power. But at 3k, all you're doing is cruising, anyway. Unfortunately, you're also gonig to bog for a half second if you try to gun it while cruising.

The resister does what it's supposed to, it's just that you don't ALWAYS want it to do that, but it gives you no choice.

that's not true at all. just because you have more fuel in the combustion chamber, doesn't mean it'll burn up and give you more power. if there's not enough air in the chamber, the bike will run rich and ruin the spark plugs among other things. and the f4i runs rich from the factory. so adding a 5 cent resistor will not do anything but screw with your bike.

there are certain right a/f mixture ratios. actually leaner burn gives more power.
~14.7 is good for ecologically clean idle and cruising
~15.5 is good for fuel economy idle and cruising
~12.5 is good for n/a power. leaner will be more powerful as mixture will burn more full, but egt will be higher and it brings the engine closer to detonation.
richer does something to certain extent, but more than that it just wastes fuel.

Default try it. All you can do is try it.

It actually got rid of the lag for me. That was the whole reason i bought it. I can stomp on it now while cruising without getting the initial jerk. and starting off from a stop , the bike hits it at a lower rpm. but hes right. It does most of its work at high RPM, so it probably burns gas cruising. I just turn it off when im riding the xpress way.
nice lights. I did that to my F4i. Joe Florida ftw. Ill post pics later. I went with the blue too, most visible, looks best i think.
