Default Can You Help Me Out With A Simple Question

Do you guys know if projectors from a yamaha r1 are water proof or not? I was just curious because i just found a steal on some (20 bucks) and i was going to put them on my f4i..... custom set up but i need to know whether than can be exposed to the elements or if i need a housing around them......

thanks guys

Don't know, but if you got a link to some pics \ specs I could do some educated guessing.

as far as specs... no luck... i mean the projectors are in their own housing but i wanna know if i have to mount them inside a headlight housing... or if i can just do away with my old housing and do something custom....

Looks good to me. The housings are plastic and aluminum, so they're not going to corrode. What you can do for added peace of mind is smear a thin layer of silicone on one face of where the parts meet, then screw them back together, and put more silicone along the seam. This will prevent moisture from getting in. In general, the headlight housing is "weatherproof" enough to put most things in. You could always throw some silicone around that, too.

Check for a rubber washer between the lens and housing. It SHOULD have one. if not: SILICONE!
