Does your front come up under hard acceleration?

If you open the throttle, close it quickly, and then pop it open, you will get a pop in low gears.
However in first gear with a steady acceleration you shouldn't get any sort of real wheelie. The bike may begin to feel a little light in your hands, but just lean forward a bit, and keep going!
It's only natural!

It CAN float up under hard, steady acceleration, under various circumstances. For instance, I did a short silly race from a stop light against a friend on a ride recently, and I floated up into a wheelie in first gear. I was sitting far back in the seat, and it's on the street so it's bumpy, and my suspension is not dialed properly. Things like that can easily push it up.
Don't be afraid of the floaty effect, just make sure that you're secure on the bars and don't twist them or you'll get into a tankslapper and that'll make you **** your pants. And even if it does float up a little on you, it takes a LOT (and I mean A LOT) for it to loop. Chances are you'll release the throttle way before that happens. And this is coming from a guy who hates to do wheelies.

Yup. In 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th... Oh you mean on my F4i?
Like everyone said, you can power up but shutting and reopening the throttle. Shutting the throttle compresses the forks and it comes up when they rebound + throttle. WOT without shutting the throttle has mostly only caused me to slip the rear. The front will get light but without help, she'll stay planted.
Squirrely but still planted
