Does anyone else have problems getting their F4i into 2nd
Hope it helps. I remember still having issues shifting to 2nd for a day or two after changing the oil. Haven't had this issue since early May. Keep us updated.
My F4i (Gray) has 61,500 km. and i have the same issue, under heavy acceleration it pops the 2nd gear, a friend told me "That is a gearbox problem, not a clutch problem". I used to make clutchless shifts but i stop doing that, i guess this is the problem when you do that kind of shifts.
He told me that i have to open the gearbox and change some parts, i dont know!!!!
BTW i make every 5000 miles oil change with Motul Synthetic Oil...

I used to have an issue sometimes. This might help if it is a really big issue for you How-To: Fix slow clunky shifts - shift star, detent arm and spring replacement - Sportbikes.net. As I rode more I got used to shifting the bike and it rarely happens now.
Never used to happen to me when I was first riding with work boots on. Bought some alpinestars riding boots and it happened allllll the time. I wasn't used to riding with a slimmer foot profile, the work boots just barely fit between the rearset and shifter so flicking my foot was enough to shift. You're probably just not kicking it up hard enough. You're going through neutral to get to second so a little more force is required compared to the rest of the gears.

I was having the same issue when I first got the bike. I did an oil change it helped ALOT!!! Also though, I noticed that at times I am not pulling the clutch in enough and that causes the clanky shift. Check on those two things, a fresh oil change, and make sure your pulling your clutch all the way, I dont have to for any other gears but 1st to 2nd when I dont its clanky, when I do its pretty smooth.
