Default Does anyone else have problems getting their F4i into 2nd

Somedays I don't have any issues and some days I feel like I really gotta kick it up to hit second. If I'm casually cruising around and shift to second it goes into neutral and I end up reving high. Anyone else have this issue?

mine pops out of second a lot. i can get it into it but after a while it pops back out again so i just hurry and throw it into third. it was like that when i got it. previous owner used it as a wheelie bike so im guessing that what messed up my second. he gave me a new clutch kit and a new set of gears (the tranny ones) with the bike.

Yea I've thought that too. Shifting like a sally. Bike has 7000 miles so the gear can't be slipping already it wasn't Beat on. I'll deal for now. Maybe look into a new clutch n shift star kit at some point. Heard those are great

Have you changed your oil recently? I've changed the oil twice since getting my 01 F4i and that happened when oil was ready to be changed and also right after putting in the new oil. Hasn't happened since then.

Mine pops out of second occasionally under heavy acceleration, or an ill-timed bump in the road. Getting it into second is never a problem, just keeping it there. Leaving your foot in the upshift position for a little extra time after shifting tends to help me (when I'm paying attention to that, which, like I said, is usually under heavy acceleration only).
