Default A Different Slip On Question

Do you need to buy a new factory exhaust gasket with all slip on exhausts???

Or are there some brands that don't need/use the gasket???

I was looking at the Jardine RT-One or a Micron slip on. I called Jardine & they said you don't need the factory gasket.

My bike is a '01 that I just got on Monday and only has 1,600 miles on it. I already bought the gasket from the dealer ($20), but just wanna know anyways. So I figured I'd ask everyone that has put a slip on on their bike.

I had a 2002 Katana 600 before (3 years ago) & I put a Yosh pipe on that and I remember destroying the factory gasket only to find out that I needed to (re)use it with the Yosh pipe...lol

I just put a Micron on my bike and it says not to use the gasket. The dealer tried to get me to buy that too, but the instructions say to toss it. Plus, the slip on goes over the stock manifold pipe, so no gasket is needed anyway. Hope that helps.

Ah crap!!!

I just spent $20 on the gasket from the local Honda dealer.

Guess I might have to see if I can return it or maybe just sell it to someone on here

Same deal with my yosh tri-oval. Rip the stock gasket off. No gasket required.
