RE: slip on question
+1 on everything said above....really..some pipes might make use of a PC...but likely, any increase you get using a PC is going to come from the better throttle response and the improved injection, not because of the exhaust...exhausts don't typically add that much to the bike...they are more sound....now a full-exhaust and you are talking something different, but with slips...nothing really...
you shold get a PC to smooth out the throttle and just overall improved the bike performance, but it won't be due to the tandem of PC and exhaust, you're just optimizing the bike...plus, to even get anything from a slip or full exhaust, you'd likely want a custom map, not a d/l'd map.....

RE: slip on question
Not necessary but worth it IMO.
I just went from bone stock to Yosh RS3 slip on and K&N air filter, didn't notice much difference in performance except it might not have revved as quick as before. A couple weeks and a few rides later installed a PCIIIwith the PC map for my setup and noticed some improvement in throttle response and not as abrupt on/off transition. I might spring for a custom map some day but I'm pretty happy with it now.
