Default Different NGK spark plugs

I bought several days ago a set of NGK IMR9C-9H, instead I received the IMR9A-9H.

Are they similar? Can I use them without problem ?

Hi Tahoe ! You always so helpfull !

I think that different codes are different codes for something and my manual says IMR9C-9H so I don´t want to take the risk and use something " similar".

I´m thinking that maybe old models use the 9A and there is the mistake.
I will wait the correct ones, don´t you think ?

cheers

Strange, the 9A costs 21 against 14 the 9C.( original one )

By the way the 9C means tangencial ground electrode

Cheers

yea that pdf i athached from NGK calls 9C a low angle ground electrode, and 9A special design...whatever that may be.

i've never tried the 9A before, just the 9C as well as platinum equivalent...no noticeable difference whatsoever, just plats cheaper.

i usually replace mines at 8K, but at 8K they look fine, i just do it because i'm there doing other stuff anyway.

i had about 12K one one set and they were still in spec and fine.

the 9C's come in the 600RRs

several ppl "upgrade" to the 9c's for their F4i's and claim noticable differences, but its all bullcrap. Unless u constantly use octane booster on top of 93 octane fuel or have major engine upgrades that need stronger supporting systems(fuel and spark) then you dont really need them, nor will u notice a difference

I just replaced my spark plugs with the normal 9A's and it turns out the previous owner of the bike had the 9C's in there... I havent noticed a slightest difference

So you'd recommend going with the Platinum for cost savings and get same performance. Just change them out 8-12k. Isn't that about the normal life of an Iridium for a sportbike?
