crashed the bike, now it won't start
guys i need a little help here. I have a '99 CBR 600 F4. I crashed it a couple months ago and havn't touched it since. It layed upside down in a ditch for about 20 minutes after the crash. Once i stood it back up it wouldn't start. It doesn't even try to crank.
What should I do?

[align=left]Im not sure if the f4's are like the f4i's, but if they are, then it may be the tip over sensor. Turn the key on, turn your fuel pump off by turning off the kill switch, and then after a few seconds turn it back on. You should here your fuel pump kick on. If your fuel pump kicks on and it still doesnt crank then i dont know.

If the bike laid on its side, you might be able to pick it up and start it (assuming the rest of the bike is intact). If it was upside down, the engine would have surely be fouled up. Clean outyour plugs and makesurethere'soilin the engine before you try to start it up.
Shed some more light on the bikes state and we may narrow in on the problem.

the bike appears to be ok, it only has cosmetic damage. the bike did not start right after the accident or right now. I don't hear the fuel pump or anything come on.
where is the tip sensor or kill switch you guys are taling about? I am a total newb when it comes to bikes. I only rode it for about a month before the wreck.

the kill switch is the red toggle button on the right handle bar. but thats not good if you dont hear the fuel pump. i would first take off the fairings and look for loose connections and then take off the seat and see if the computers connects are ok. mainly, you gonna have to take off the tank and check out if hoses leading into the pump are a snug fit.
also, since you did not use the bike for a while i would charge the battery first. g-luck

Here go to this website and skip the intro and all, scroll to the bottom left and click on your bikes model, you can download the factory service manual for your bike....this should help you get your seat off and help you troubleshoot your bike...If no lights or anything come on check your battery connections, fuses, etc. http://stephygee.com/
