Default crashed the bike

Ummm so ya
took a bad turn and crashed the bike.... just wondering if i could get some tips from other f4 owners andi have a few questions if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated
so the bike smoked a curb... i think i hit an oil patch and the front end crashed into a curb... the front rim is bent, the forks are bent.
i was just wondering if anyone can help:

should i try to fix it myself? i am pretty mechanically inclined, like i do all the mechanical work on my car myself and work as an automotive electrictian so i have access to shop and tools etc.

is the f4 and f4i parts compatible? i am shopping for parts local and on ebay... and it seems that many of the sellers say they are the same part (part #'s)? i think i need new wheel/brakes, forks, and a rad... are the parts the same?

finally my forks are bent I have been looking on ebay... and i found some parts is just the forks, and then other part that is the fork and triple tree or steering piece whatever it is called.... can i just order the forks and use my existing triple tree or do they have to be changed together???

Any help appreciated!!!! Thanks a lot

John

Go down to the sale sectino of this site, Deadbroke is selling some stuff. Was thinking of getting his forks off him, but sounds like you need them more then I do.

I wouldnt trust when they say that they fit f4 and f4i....some parts will some parts wont. I have cam across alot of people saying they interchange, when they really dont, so dont trust everything you see. I would search for stuff only for an f4 just to be safe, dont want to buy a part and then not be able to use it.

Got any pics of what the bike looks like now? I would just shop around on ebay for those parts, can save alot of money and also check the stuff for sale section....people part out there bikes on here sometimes.

Burner, sucks you laid her down dude, glad your ok though. I'm pretty sure they use the same forks, the F4 is a 43mm and I think the F4i's are as well. I guess just ask the guy before you buy them if they're 43mm.

ServiceHonda.com has a parts lookup. You should be able to find your bike on there and compare the F4 and the F4i.
