clutch Problem

Default clutch Problem

I have an 2001 f4i and i was riding today and pulled the clutch lever in and it stayed in and the bike would not disengage the gear (stayed in gear)? any help.. Do i need a new clutch?

Sounds like your clutch cable broke. Does the clutch lever move around freely now with no resistance? If so, broken cable. It's like a $25 part IIRC, and very easy to replace yourself.

Clutch cable would be my first guess.

Its not the clutch cable, it seems to be fine. any there things to check?

If the clutch lever on the crankcase moves when you pull the clutch in, I believe it is time to get your hands dirty. I think your next step is to take off the right crankcase over and inspect the clutch. Check the spring, friction disk, basket, ect for wear and/or broken pieces. Good luck
