Cluster Resets

Default Cluster Resets

I know this is 2 threads at the same time but..i also have a problem with my cluster getting reset...everytime i shut the bike off my time and trip miles get reset to 1:00 AM and 0 miles...im sure the battery is still good so i dont know what the problem could be

Hey Pimpax56, you're going to need a Service Manual. You can download one for free up in the General Tech area; it'll be a sticky on the top titled "manuals". You'll need a multimeter to check for continuity. It sounds to me that the wire(s) in charge of memory (clock/mileage) are/is disconnected.
In the future you may also want to specify the type/year of bike you have

2001 f4i...i have a service manual i dno where to find what you're talking about though

The gauge is supposed to have a positive charge going to it at all times, regardless if the bike is on or off. Look at the wiring diagram to find those wires (probably just positive and negative), then use a multimeter to see if the gauge is getting what it's supposed to. If not, you know what to fix.

I have the same bike with the same problem and was wondering what you found out, did you get the problem solved?
