Default Cleaning it

I put on a protective tank cover, its a sticker with a plastic covering. I wanted to take it off. I took off the plastic and the sticker is still on the tank. I tried peeling it off, and it would'nt come off. Anyone have a suggestion how to get the sticker off without ruining the paint on the tank?

Im not sure if this will do anything to your paint but i know that like if your trying to get a sticker off of a window or something goo gone works good.

You can try Goof Off too, I'd test it in an area that wouldn't show up too well in case it dulled the paint first before I put it on my tank, but I have friends that use it to debadge thier cars, remove stickers, and today I saw it used to remove paint marker from a fuel tank on a bike and it didn't hurt the paint on that bike.

goo gone seems to dull the paint if used too hard or rough. use it sparingly and dont get in a hurry and you should be fine, try setting the bike out in the sun for a while, to heat up the sticky goo, then dab goo gone with a non-abraisive towel, and try to pick at it with your fingers, if you have a few scratches when finished, a good wax should buff them out fine.

If you have to use a adhesive remover....like goo gone or goof off, they tend to make the paint dull if you rub too hard.

After you are done, a coat of wax brings the shine right back though.

Basically, just be careful using it.
