520 is smaller than stock. the -1 +5 thing is how many teeth from stock you are in the front and rear Ex. my bike is 1 tooth down from stock in the front and it is 2 teeth up from stock in the rear. Goin 1 down in the front is compared to about 3 up in the rear. Doing this will give you lower end power and quicker acceleration but lower top speed and if you switched it around it would be vice versa. Hope that helps a little.

520 is the width of the chain. Smaller than the stock 525 (width) and not as strong. 530 is even wider and stronger (used on litre bikes and busas) the whole -/+ thing is the difference in tooth count from stock. i.e. the F4i has a 16 tooth sprocket up front and a 46 tooth on the rear, so a -1/+2 has 15 teeth on the front and 48 out back. Its done for more bottom end torque (easier to wheelie) but high speeds will run your bike at a higher RPM. check ebay for the best prices. I went through "moto-heaven" (ebay store) very knoledgable and will tell you what gearing to use for what you want to accomplish.
