Default Chain adjustment

I just put my new tires on, and had to adjust my chain, with 1 1/4" clearance of play. Before I had more than that and now when I was at 9K and ripped the throttle, from 9 - 12 K it felt like the bike went up in rpms but I didn't accelerate like I should. Is this because of the chain adjustment is too tight?

I adjust my chain with 3/4 inch play while sitting on the seat. Never had any problem, I know a lot of guys that race and 3/4 inch is what they suggest for street and race

You would think that if you had too much play that it could slip and that's what possibly happened to you Stephens.......so try what smak_blaze said and only have 3/4 inch play(while sitting on the bike) and see if that eliminates it
