Sounds to me that it is the clutch basket not the CCT, esp as the noise goes away when the clutch lever is pulled in.

IMHO as long as its not really loud and a grinding sort of noise then no nothing to worry about, some Honda's just do it.

Hello eveyrone,

I THINK i've also developed the "rattle" which would indicate the need to replace my CCTL.
It happens only between 5-6k RPM (not below, not above). I've made a quick video about the sound/rpm range, could anyone just verify if this is indeed the "BB in a can" CCTL rattle before i go spending money on a new one?
Generally speaking, if you look at the RPM in the video, any time the RPM is between 5-6k there's a very distinct rattle (especially at the end of the video where i keep it between the RPM range).

Thank you in advance!

As promised..
The old one came off pretty easily:
-Right fairing off;
-Gas tank lifted;
-Upper bolt from the top;
-Lower bolt from the hole in the frame;

Putting on the new one was a pain however..managed to strip the upper bolt when putting it back in but that's a issue for the future me.
It was the CCTL at the end and my bike sounds a lot better now.

Well done! Although your future self ALWAYS has to pay the price for Mr. Present's mistakes...
