i have the chance to buy a very clean 2001 cbr600f41 for dirt cheap the guy that owns it had a buddy ride it around the block and his buddy laid it down not a lot of damage. he decided to reebuild the engine and transmission and clean it up. he has no rode it in the last three years but last time he rode it he said you cant feel it click in and out of gear and it does not stay in gear. he was able to ride it but he had to keep the shift lever in one spot. don't know any thing about cbr's but i can not pass this up it is way to cheap and i know the guy takes good care of every thing he owns. what do you guys think is the problem. i think he just forgot some thing or somthing is backwards

 

change the oil?

 

Could be a few things if he had worked on the engine/trans.
Shift fork not installed correctly possibly.
Does it pop out of gear right away or just on accelleration?
Try giving us a few more details so we can try & work this out for you

 

you know how you can feel each gear go in my you shift up or down has a distinct click it does not have that you have no way of feeling wether it wen into gear or not

 

I think I know what it is but I dont know the name for it, just what it looks like, lol.
