I feel your pain man. I had the sameish problem last spring when I "upgraded" to SS lines. I think it was Tahoe who told me to sit there and pretty much pump the brakes for the next 3 years of my life. lol It sure did feel like that.
Glad you got it all working now! I would suggest to invest in some speed bleeders. You don't have to keep tightening and loosening the bleeder bolt, they have like a little stopper thing in them they rock!

Ive got one of those and my rear brake felt crappy after using it, i did it the conventional way of pumping the pedal and it worked 10x better. It seeps air around the threads because once you crack it loose the thread sealer that was there is gone. This is a common issue on the f4i im guessing.
Its better to push the fluid out you get more pressure then to suck it out.
