Its not a honda but i figured someone might beable to help. My friend is looking at a 2004 zx6 to buy. The guy who is selling it does not have the key it was his brothers and he passed away. My friend asked him if he cared if he took the ignition out to take it to a lock smith to have one molded he did not care so we took it out got a key. took it back put the ignition in turned it and nothing happend the bike has been sitting for 2 years so the battery has to be dead we tried to jump it and still nothing turned on. i checked all the fuses thier all good but noting on the speedometer turns on or anything. while having it apart i noticed its broke where the wired plug into the speedometer so i pushed them together and still nothin. could that be whats wrong with it. or do u think the battery is just so shot from sitting that even a jump wont help it?

 

Check to make sure you can use a knock off key vs OEM.

 

I know it is a sensitive issue, are you sure that he is the legal owner, It might be a knock off, check with DVLA

 

Thanks guy i got it running after about an hour of playin around with a test light i found a hidden fuse that was bad.
