Default Battery

I know that this is a nube question but I just got my bike yesterday and need to know how to get the battery out of it so I can give it a charge.

if you have a split seat 01-03 then;

At the rear corners of your seat, there are 2 bolts, push the foam out of your way and shove a 10mm socket with an extention on it and remove both bolts, then your seat will come right off. flop your computer out of the way, and you should be starring at your battery box, there will be 2 "pin" type fasteners, pull the centre of the "pin" on both of them and they will click up releasing the lid. now the lid is hinged so it's a pain to keep open, while unscrewing the battery posts. Posts should be a #3 phillips screwdriver to undo them. cheers

Drew

Ummm...get a tender and charge it in place.

I have an onbike plug (attached to the subframe) just for this purpose. Same plug on all my bikes.
